Designed and constructed by Keith Harvell, of Narberth, a huge contour map of the Wild West has now been presented to the local fund-raising group of Wales Air Ambulance The first time the public will be able to view this perfectly constructed panorama, will be tomorrow (Saturday) at the Charity's Gold-Rush evening at the Coppet Hall Beach Hotel, Saundersfoot. The huge three-dimensional map is a work of art and includes mountains, canyons, prairie grass, tepees, boulders and mineshafts. Prospectors can try their luck for £1 to locate the gold that is hidden... somewhere! Keith and wife Marje have been active volunteers for the charity for over two years now. Keith said: "I wanted to do my bit, so this map is my contribution to the fun and the fund-raising of the Gold-Rush evening." Jayne Driscoll at the hotel has decked out the room with 'wanted' posters and all the paraphernalia of the time so that the scene is set for 'The Last Chance Saloon' to recall the atmosphere of the era, and the numerous prizes on offer will make sure that some 'strike it rich'. There has been a lot of interest in the evening, which includes live music and entertainment and an optional hog-roast. Native American dancers in full costume will be just one of the highlights of the night. Excellent raffle prizes have been given by the business community and there is a chance to take away a memento of the evening. Tickets for the night are £7.50 and available by 'phoning the hotel on (01834) 814467 or emailing [email protected]">[email protected]
