Questions were asked last week as to why the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) had not arranged a special consultation event in Tenby on their draft countryside access map for Pembrokeshire.

The map is due to be published soon and the CCW have arranged consultation events across the county to allow people to make representations as to any open country or common land shown, or not shown on it.

Meetings had been arranged from June through August at various locations, including Haverfordwest, Pembroke, St. Davids. Fishguard, Crymych and Narberth.

However, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas expressed concern at last week's meeting of Tenby Town Council that this area appeared to have been overlooked.

"There is no place in the south-east of the county for people to see this map," she commented. "We have been left out again. I know there is a consultation event in Narberth, but people should have the opportunity to view the map without having to drive too far."

Clr. Miss Lis James agreed.

"I think it's a disgrace," she said. "They can arrange meetings in places like Crymych and Fishguard, but not Tenby."

Clr. Trevor Hallett felt that no meeting had been organised in Tenby as the area did not have much common land.

He added that the town council had the information about the map in their offices in the De Valence Pavilion and that people were welcome to come and look at it there if they so wished.
