"This picture speaks for itself," says local resident Sasha Clarkson, who is concerned about the bad impression that the current state of Tenby's streets might make on visitors to the area.
"A simple question - why is this allowed to happen?" he asks, pointing out that goverment guidance regarding the opening of highways, states:
'Statutory undertakers (mostly utilities) must reinstate the street after they have finished their works in such a way that minimises any long-term damage to the street and takes into account aesthetic considerations'.
Responding, however, a spokesperson for Pembrokeshire County Council said this week: "The road surfacing shown in the picture is acceptable as a temporary reinstatement only.
"The utility company concerned has six months to replace the cobbles. However, due to this particular location, we have asked them to reinstate the cobbles before Easter."
