Dear Editor
Sir,
We are all entitled to our opinions about the various candidates for PM. However I read with dismay Mr Smith’s description of Mr Johnson as ‘amicable and clownish’.
We are all aware that the truth often eludes him. He says that he couldn’t pass his Withdrawal Bill through Parliament. It was passed with a majority of 30!
He was the one who pulled it in order to avoid scrutiny. He went to Northern Ireland and told business leaders that there would definitely be no additional paperwork in trading with the UK - total nonsense.
He’s not bothered to understand his own Deal and speak the truth to people most affected. He repeats that he didn’t want this election, but he called for it four times.
He also acted unlawfully when he Prorogued Parliament.
He recently announced a hospital building programme which he claimed would produce 40 new hospitals.
Expert analysis suggests that the allocated expenditure would produce only six.
After 10 years of the Conservatives denying the NHS the funding needed to keep up with costs, he now claims to be its champion. Another wild flight of fantasy. Who do you trust most with our precious NHS?
Janet Roberts,
Saundersfoot.
