On Sunday, May 28, additional free entertainment will be available for children visiting the Llysyfran Country Park and Reservoir.
This will be at The Welsh Dragon Boat Championship. Adults will pay £3 for entry for the whole day, but all children are admitted free of charge and will be delighted with the extra treats available for them this year.
Welsh Water have invested in a new play area and climbing frames at the entrance to the park.
A bouncy castle, inflatable dome and tea cup rides are being provided by Care in Hand. They are based in Narberth and are always pleased and proud to support the Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club.
In addition this year, Care in Hand have also sponsored face painting which will be provided by Gabrielle Swales in the giant marquee which will be in the centre of the field.
Rotary organiser Ken Morgan said: “Without the generous support of sponsors, we could never provide free entertainment all day for the children. This is meant to be a fun-filled family day.”
And that is not all. The Army Reserve Centre from Picton Barracks in Carmarthen will be bringing along some activity games, military equipment and a kids mini zip wire. This will be provided courtesy of Major John James.
Finally, if that is not enough to wet the appetite of parents and children alike, a mini digger will be available for children to sit in the cab and control the levers of the excavator arm to move small objects from one spot to another.
Hywel Griffiths, the event main sponsor, will be in charge of the excavator and he said: “Kids love the idea of controlling the machine, but of course, we won’t be letting them drive it down the site!”
The event will raise proceeds for mental health charities and spectators are encouraged to come along and support the competing teams in the fourth annual Welsh Dragon Boat Championship.
