Whitland Town Council has directed Carmarthenshire County Council to address persistent parking issues near the town's primary school after receiving complaints from residents.
At the Town Council’s recent meeting, the Clerk reported that an email had been received from a member of the public concerning parking issues in the vicinity of the primary school.
The correspondence stated that, at certain times of day, pedestrians - particularly those accompanying school children - experience difficulty navigating sections of the pavement due to obstructive parking.
The resident also noted that this matter had been raised with the County Councillor.
Members discussed the issue and determined that responsibility for addressing the concern lies with Carmarthenshire Council.
The Clerk was instructed to write to the County Council to formally highlight the matter.
