Whitland Male Voice Choir had a busy St. David's Day period when they sang in the Sergeant's Mess, Brawdy, on Wednesday evening and followed this with a concert in Llanboidy Market Hall on St David's Day. The Corran Singers from Llaugharne joined the choir with items sung individually and united and there were local invited artists. The evening was compered by Clive Edwards and a goodly sum was raised to support the tug of war team. The choir is going to take part in the Welsh Association of Male Voice Choirs' presentation in the Albert Hall, London, of a 'Thousand Welsh Voices'. Three coachloads will leave Whitland on Friday morning and spend Friday evening at leisure in London. Saturday there are rehearsals for the men, while the ladies do their shopping in Oxford Street and meeting for the evening concert in the Albert Hall. Sunday there will be an early start to go to Camden Market in London for more shopping, before setting off home in the afternoon, with a stop for dinner at Pontardulais.
