Just two weeks to go to Christmas and Whitland is bursting with festive charm.
All the businesses are brimming with seasonal fare and gift ideas and the town is looking forward to various special events in the run-up to Christmas.
Carmarthenshire's most westerly town has plenty to offer the shopper this year, with a variety of stores and shops which can provide virtually all, if not all, your festive needs.
Whitland prides itself on community spirit, with both townsfolk and those living in the surrounding rural communities coming together for the Yuletide.
As well as all the traditional parties, concerts and other seasonal activities taking place, this year there is also the ever-popular Christmas display competition.
Due to the excellent response they received to the competition last year, the town council would like to ask residents to enter their festive challenge once again this year.
The competition will be the same as last year, with the best house front being judged on Sunday, December 16. The winner will receive a trophy, which they will be able to retain for the year.
The trophy will be presented to the winner on the evening of Monday, December 17, when there will be a children's Father Christmas evening outside Grosvenor House (this will commence at 6 pm).
The town council felt last year that Whitland was enhanced by the brilliance of decorations, this being the objective of the competition.
This will be Father Christmas's second visit to the town as he will be visiting the Hywel Dda Centre at 6.30 pm on Thursday evening, December 13.
Also present will be the Whitland Male Voice Choir, who will be singing Christmas carols at 7 pm, accompanied by the Tenby and District Brass Band.
Mulled wine and mince pies will be available and there will also be Christmas stalls.
