Preparations are well underway for this year's Whitland Garden Festival.
The event was held for the first time last year and was a huge success. Organisers are hoping to build on this to make this year's festival even better.
This community event will be held in the grounds of Dyffryn Taf School from 10 am until 4 pm on Sunday, June 27. There will be a small entry charge of £1 for adults, with children and pensioners able to enter free.
There will be plenty to see and do for all ages, with a plant sale and arts and crafts fair, garden related displays and demonstrations and refreshments. The new Carmarthenshire County Council trailer will be on site giving practical environmental advice on composting, wormeries and water butts that are ideal for gardens. All these items will also be for sale on the day.
There will also be two garden projects completed by Dyffryn Taf students on display and some private gardens, ranging from contemporary to formal with vegetables, will be open for viewing throughout the day.
Local people are invited to contribute to the festival with any gardening related activities.
Anyone wishing to have a stall on the day is asked to come forward as soon as possible and contact Sue Allen (plants) 01994 241269 or Liz O'Neill (arts and crafts) on 01994 240717.
