On a recent wet and windy Sunday evening, Whitland Male Voice Choir gave a concert for the Saundersfoot branch of the Cancer Research charity.
The concert was held in the Thomas Memorial Church, Saundersfoot, by kind permission of Rev. P. Morgan and the deacons of the church.
The building was acoustically a lovely place to sing and the gentlemen of the choir raised their voices in appreciation of this fact.
As always, the choir was led by Juliet, their musical director, and beautifully accompanied by Hefina. In fact, Hefina had to work doubly-hard that evening as she also sang two solo 'spots', accompanying herself on the piano in both.
The choir sang their usual wide range of music. The MD maintains the importance of the choir singing various styles of music so that everyone in the audience can go home feeling satisfied and that the choristers and musicians also feel contented.
Although the audience was not too large, they certainly appreciated the fine tone of the choir and the programme chosen.
Chairman of the Saundersfoot Cancer Research Committee, Geoff Somner, thanked the choir, pastor Peter Morgan and members for the use of the church, with the concert raising £286 for the charity.
Later, a welcome cup of tea and cakes were enjoyed by the choir and the committee.
