Sir, When we move closer to a General Election it is helpful if you know where your MP stands on Government policies. Living in the Whitland area and having Simon Hart as my Conservative MP I find this very difficult. Last week he appeared in the Tenby Observer rightly supporting a campaign by The Reading Agency for every child to join the local library, yet he belongs to the Conservative party which has a policy of damaging cuts which is closing down libraries all over the UK. In December 2013 he appeared in the Tenby Observer giving his 'stamp of approval' to Narberth's new food bank which to me seems to show the consequences of the disastrous government policy which increases the need for more food banks. Surely the question has to be asked, 'Where do you stand on these Government policies Simon Hart, MP?' What is even more confusing is that after having seen suffering from tobacco smoking in my family and Governments trying to bring smoking under control, my MP appears to oppose some of these controls and then accepts free visit tickets from the Japan Tobacco International. Very confusing with such conflicting views!
Michael Sharratt,
Whitland.
