Tenby town council have chosen their new Mayor-elect who has said she sees ‘brighter and better days’ ahead, out of the pandemic.

Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall will don the scarlet robes of office for a second term, and fly the flag for the town when she is made Mayor of the resort in May.

A secret ballot was held to determine who would be made Mayor, with Clr. Tony Brown who held the position prior to Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall also in the running.

With council members currently meeting remotely, they were asked to send their votes via post, and it was revealed at Tuesday night’s meeting that Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall took the overall vote.

“This is a huge honour, and I am grateful to my fellow councillors for their support,” said Clr. Mrs. Skyrme-Blackhall who joined the town council in December 2017

“We are still in difficult times, but brighter and better days are ahead. I look forward to working with fellow councillors, our staff and all organisations to get the best for the people of Tenby.

“That is our clear priority. When Tenby works together, we are stronger,” she added.
