Sir,

I, like many others who live in Tenby, consider some form of pedestrianisation should be included in the solution to Tenby's traffic problems. I feel that access for residents is an essential part of this solution; these two elements are not incompatible.

The council this year operated a service line to grant access to residents, but the reality of this was that access was granted in few cases and only for some emergency situations.

The use of the service line was a deeply humiliating experience. I felt like a rebellious pupil standing in front of a head teacher only to be given detention again. Why should we give out very detailed personal information to someone we do not know, who will then act as judge and jury. Why should we have to plead and beg just to gain access to our homes?

There are in life unforeseen circumstances that cannot be planned for, there is a need sometimes to load and unload to property. I personally have lost valuable time, money and quality of life through the present scheme.

A public inquiry is my only hope of common sense prevailing. What are the council afraid of?
