Do you need to renew your Bus Pass? Transport for Wales have people coming to Tenby Library to help with renewing Bus Passes on Monday and Friday, November 11 and 22, 10 am - 1 pm. Bring your existing bus pass, your date of birth, postcode and National Insurance number. These are drop-in sessions, no booking is needed. They will also be at Saundersfoot Library on November 14, at 2 - 5 pm, and at other libraries in Pembrokeshire on other days.
General assistance with computers, tablets and smartphones is available with our Digital Champion Volunteer Roger who runs drop-in sessions on Mondays at 10 am - 12 pm. He won’t be available on Monday 11th, but he is here most Mondays. Just bring your device along and ask your question. There’s no need to book and it’s free. If you have more in-depth questions for him, there are two bookable periods, one at 12 - 12.30 pm and the other at 12.30 - 1 pm.
Baby Rhyme Time is back for pre-school age children and their adults, with songs and stories. It’s on Tuesday mornings at 10.30 am - 11 am during term-time. There’s no need to book for this, just turn up and there’s no charge.
The new kerbside recycling collection services started on Monday and we have a small supply of glass boxes, grey food caddies and green food boxes available on request. They are free, one per Pembrokeshire address. They are also available at Tenby Leisure Centre and at the De Valence. We also stock the food waste bags, just ask at the counter. More information about the new recycling scheme is on the Pembrokeshire County Council website at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/kerbside-collection. If you don’t know when your grey bags will be collected, you can find out at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/kerbside-collection/next-waste-and-recycling-collection by entering your postcode.
New books in this month include novels by Bernard Cornwell, Jojo Moyes and Stephen King. Non-fiction new books include the Haynes Guide to the Roman Soldier, and How Can I Help Hedgehogs?
The parking enforcement officers are still patrolling the library car-park and may issue tickets to those who abuse the parking system. There are warning notices up around the car-park. We have a number of short-stay bays immediately outside the library which can be used for up to 30 minutes (60 minutes with a Blue Badge) without a parking permit. These are clearly marked with 30 minute or 60 minute signs. Parking anywhere else in the car park requires a permit which can be obtained from staff.
For more information and booking, please call Tenby Library on 01437 775151 or 01834 843934 or email [email protected].
