Sir,

The report in the Tenby Observer (February 21), 'South Beach site request refused', says it all; the planning system is not only broke, but corrupt. A planning application should stand or fall on merit.

Water's Edge is a development that should never have received approval, as is now proved by its commercial failure.

What we learn now is that it was approved on the back of 'providing five off-site affordable housing units'. What was the Pembrokeshire National Park Authority thinking about at the time?
