Sir,
I am an ongoing cancer patient of Ward 10 and under the superb care of Dr. Ann Barnes, assistant oncologist, and Dr. Moe, oncologist based at Singleton Hospital.
Whilst on Ward 10 recently I was amazed to learn that Dr. Moe's visiting clinics have been reduced, and that it is now difficult to fit in as many patients - new and old - into the clinics as was previously possible.
This, to me, is very worrying. I was under the impression that cancer care was an urgent priority. This could surely mean that patients will not be referred as quickly as normal, and the queue will become slower, and longer.
I have been informed that this change has NOT come from the oncologist, but from the powers that be!
Dr. Ann Barnes and her team do an absolutely fantastic job, and we are so lucky to have such a marvellous facility.
I hope that there are no plans to secretly undermine a system that has been working so well.
Margaret Baker,
