Sir,
I was again disappointed to read in the Tenby Observer that Tenby Town Council had voted for a return of the South Pembrokeshire Hunt to the town in November.
Councillor Putwain is to be congratulated on speaking up against the proposal.
It must surely cost the town and the local tax payer in particular, more to clean the streets afterwards than money that it might bring to the town.
Last year the council were immediately on hand to clean dog and horse excrement from the streets and pavements of Tenby.
Bearing in mind the poor publicity the town has received this year, especially the poor state of repair of the multi-storey car park, the filthy toilets, and the ever-present menace of dog fouling, does the council think it is a good idea to waste money in this way?
Tenby can have no complaints if its tourist trade vanishes.
