Sir,

Arriving at the sea front of South Beach on our first visit to Tenby, you can imagine the excitement to find a parking space on the front overlooking the sea. We had just driven for two hours and decided to have breakfast and look around the town before booking in to the hotel as we were early and couldn't book in until 2 pm.

We had a nice all-day breakfast in the town, went for a stroll through the shops and went back to the car to book-in, perfect. What's that under the windscreen wiper, I thought, as I unlocked the car door. I've got a parking ticket, £70, - £35 if paid promptly. What for? There are cars parked all the way along the front and they don't have a ticket?

And that was our welcome to Tenby town, with another £15 to park for the weekend,

It seems a bit sneaky putting a parking place for disabled in the middle of free parking and not marking it so that its obvious that you are not to park there. Or is the intention to get more cash out of the unsuspecting visitor to the town?

Well this put a cloud over the weekend. We went to Pembroke and took ages to find a parking space because the ticket machines were off and I didn't want to chance it. We were going to visit the castle, but didn't feel like.

Well I must say it's the first and last time we go to Tenby or anywhere in Pembrokeshire. Perhaps the council could use the proceeds of my fine to put better signage to highlight the parking areas so that it is obviously reserved parking, making it free for those intended.
