On Sunday, January 27, Tenby Basketball Club went to Llanelli for a fixture, the senior men's West Wales League. They travelled with eight players, six of which were 17 or younger.

The game started off with the sides very evenly match, and the game swayed to and fro throughout. The first quarter came to an end with both sides tied at 16.

Some of the highlights of the quarter, was the three point shooting of David Rees.

The second quarter was much the same as the first, with Tenby going into half time with a one point advantage at 29-28

In the third quarter Llanelli opened up a four point lead, and finished the quarter in front by 42-38.

Tenby clawed this back in the 4th quarter, only to concede a couple of baskets near the end, which enabled Llanelli to run out winners by 56-48.

This was a terrific game very close and played the right spirit.

All the Tenby team played exceptionally well from the ball handling skills of Adam Walsh and Andrew Morgan, the shooting of James Llama and Rhys Bromby, the rebounding of Dan Evans, Jason Richards and Craig Maggs at the shooting and rebounding of David Rees.

The team spirit is tremendous and this young team should improve in the next couple of seasons and hopefully win the league as Tenby teams have done in the past.

Training is at Tenby Leisure Centre 7 - 8 pm on Thursdays, all new players are welcome.
