Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has completed water mains investment work in St. Florence in time for Christmas. Customers in the area can be assured of top quality drinking water for the festive season and the foreseeable future, with the completion of the £1.8 million scheme to upgrade the mains in the area. The scheme, which started in October 2006, involved relining 17 kilometres of water mains to ensure that customers in the area continue to receive a high quality of water direct to their taps. Dwr Cymru Welsh Water liaised with Pembrokeshire County Council in preparation for the scheme and held a public exhibition for local residents. Dwr Cymru capital manager Peter Childs said: "We would like to thank our customers, the local councils, and the neighbouring communities for their patience and co-operation while we carried out this essential work. "This scheme was an important part of our overall plans to upgrade the water and sewerage mains across Wales. The refurbishment of the mains will ensure that long term benefits are delivered to our customers in the area." Welsh Water is investing heavily and working hard to ensure top quality services to all its communities in Wales. The company is investing £1.2 billion in its water and sewerage network between 2005 and 2010. It is a not-for-profit company with the sole objective of providing top quality services for its customers. Welsh Water does not have shareholders, and any profits made are reinvested in the business for the benefit of customers, as well as for returning to customers as 'dividends'. The customer dividend for 2007/8 is £20 for each customer receiving both water and wastewater services.

Peter Childs from Dwr Cymru and Andrew Swift of Laing O’Rourke celebrate the all clear for Christmas.
