Two Pembrokeshire bowlers have chalked up success in the Welsh under 25s pairs championship.
Junior international team-mates Ceris Hewlings, 25, and Kerry Frayling, 22, came from behind to win the Welsh Women's Bowling Association title at the national finals held in Brynhyfryd, Neath, last week.
Tenby Bowling Club member, Ceris and Kerry, who plays for Haverfordwest, showed grit and determination in the final as they pulled back from being 11-2 down against fellow internationals, Hannah Lyons, from Croesyceiliog and Port Talbot's Ceri Ann Davies, to draw level 15-all going into the last end.
For the first time in the match, the West Wales duo took the lead on the 21st end when they picked up one to clinch victory 16-15.
Runners-up in the inaugural event last year, Ceris, a member of the Observer editorial staff, and Kerry, a learning support assistant at Prendergast School, Haverfordwest, were presented with the winners' trophies given by last year's Welsh president, Valmai Whiteford, of Whitland, by current president, Barbara Hunt from Port Talbot.
Ceris and Kerry will now compete in the British Isles two-wood pairs championship which will take place at the junior international series in Scotland next summer.
Kerry and another Tenby club member, Janine Bancroft, also performed well in the junior Welsh singles competition, both reaching the semi-final stage.
