Tenby United Sevens tournament received a real boost this week from the Welsh Rugby Union squad and their coach Steve Hansen.

The Welsh players were delighted to show off Tenby United Sevens squad's new rugby shirts that they will be wearing during the tournament.

Steven Jones, Wales outside half said that he really liked the look and feel of the new shirts and wished Tenby well for the tournament.

Equally impressed was Steve Hansen who stated that he thought is was 'terrific' that Tenby United was organising their own Sevens rugby tournament and that loyal Tenby players gave 100 per cent to their club, not only on the playing field, but also with financial sponsorship, like Chris, of N. D. Toy and Partners.

"It is what loyalty is all about," he said.

The Sevens tournament takes place on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 25 at Tenby United's playing field in Heywood Lane.

The gates will be open from 11 am, with the first match to kick off at 11.30 am.

The teams taking part are Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven, Tenby Utd, The Marauders, The Gloucester Barbarians, Pontyberem, Penclawdd, Bryncethin and Laugharne.

Opening the event will be Jamie Robinson, of Cardiff and Wales and Gordan Murphy of Leicester and Ireland.

In addition to the fine rugby and visit of the special guests, the event promises to be a great day out for all the family.

There will also be a large beer tent, barbecue, bouncy castle and entertainment for the children, face-painting and lots more.

Entry to the ground is £2 for adults, with children and OAPs admitted free.

There is a raffle on the day with various prizes, including a signed Welsh rugby shirt and ball from the Welsh rugby squad.

You can only buy tickets for the raffle on entry into the ground and it will be drawn at the rugby club after the tournament.

We look forward to your support and company on the day for this entertaining local event.
