Seventeen-year-old Tenby footballer Nicola Aston, a pupil at Greenhill School and lifeguard at Kiln Park Holiday Park, received her first Under 19s Welsh cap last week, when she played an international match against Northern Ireland. This was played at the Haverfordwest ground, with the result being a 1-1 draw. Nicola has also been successful at junior levels for her country, in the Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 15s, when she travelled to Denmark. She has also been a regular team player for the Pembrokeshire county side; also at club level for Tenby Ladies Football Club. The next international Nicola will be competing in is the 2004 UEFA Cup at the end of September, which is being held in Britain this year. Special thanks must go to Gerry Rigby, FAW development officer, who has been instrumental in Nicola's success in reaching these levels, also Angela Nicholls for coaching skills, along with Tenby Junior School, where Nicola received her first introduction to girls football. Family and friends wish her continued success in her footballing conquests.
