Saundersfoot’s Regency Hall has enjoyed a great turn out for the venue’s first Welsh Conversational classes, which kicked-off last month.
“A huge thank you to Del the tutor and Cllr Chris Williams for helping to arrange funding.
“If you fancy learning something new in a fun and informal class, come and join us every Wednesday between 10.30am and 11.30am.”
County councillor for the seaside village’s south ward, Cllr Williams said that he was ‘delighted’ to see the lessons taking off.
“Over the last few years, I have had many discussions with local residents regarding Welsh lessons in the village and I’m delighted that we are now able to make this happen,“ he stated.
“This is a fantastic initiative for the community with over 25 attending the first lesson of conversational Welsh.
“The lessons cover basic greetings, phrases that are useful in everyday life – food, weather, ordering drinks etc. This is a lovely group with coffee and biscuits on offer in a relaxed, friendly environment.
“If you are interested, please enquire at the Regency Hall. Such has been the support for this that I have written to the Director of Education of Pembrokeshire County Council to look at potentially funding additional classes from the National Centre for those who aren’t able to attend in the daytime.
“I hope to give more details in the following months and would like to thank Delyth and Emma, along with the Regency Hall for their support with this,” he added.
