The Welsh Football Trust and its official Community Partner, McDonald's, has launched the seventh annual Welsh Community Football Awards which aim to recognise and reward clubs, coaches, players and volunteers who dedicate their time to grassroots football in communities across Wales.

Nominations are now open and the Welsh Football Trust and McDonald's are encouraging people across West Wales to nominate their unsung football heroes today.

The West Wales FA is calling on people from across the region for nominations for the nine award categories so that they can be recognised for their achievements.

The award categories include: WFT coach of the year (sponsored by McDonald's); WFT club of the year (sponsored by McDonald's); WFT volunteer of the year (sponsored by McDonald's); WFT school of the year; WFT girl player of the year; WFT boy player of the year; WFT disability girl of the year; WFT disability boy of the year; WFT lifetime achievement.

Nominations close on April 18 when the regional winners will be selected by individual regional judging panels and invited to attend the national awards ceremony which will take place at Cardiff Castle on June 23. At the ceremony, the nine national award-winners will be announced.
