Talented local footballer Carrie Slack, who plays for Tenby Ladies, was recently selected for Wales.

Carrie, aged 16, gained her first cap for her country in September, playing for the Under 19s in the UEFA Ladies Tournament held in Austria.

As well as Wales, the three other countries taking part were Austria, France and Greece.

Previous to this tournament, Carrie has played for the Welsh Under 14s and Under 16s junior squads.

A special mention must go to all who have helped Carrie in her football career, including Dene Hurlow, who coached her when she first played for the boys team; Angela Nicholls, who coached her in the junior and senior girls teams; county ladies coach, Gerry Rigby, the FAW development officer; and present team coach, Garry Heesom; not forgetting her proud parents, family, friends, and all the Tenby team, staff and club members.

Any girls or ladies interested in playing football, who would like to take part in a very successful and talented team, with good coaching and facilities, please do not hesitate to call Tom Aston on (01834) 844034.
