Sir,
I read with some concern the comment published in your regular Straws in the Wind column (December 28, 2012) in relation to the presence of Canadian troops in the UK, many of whom may be forgotten after undertaking field exercises in the Pembrokeshire hills during WW2.
I'm so glad to say that this is not the case in Haverfordwest and they are certainly not forgotten; the graves of the Canadian airmen, and those from New Zealand, Poland and the UK, get remembrance crosses every September (Wings Week) and November (Remembrance period).
I can well understand the writer's anxiety but, in Pembrokeshire, we try to do our best.
Keep up the good work - I know I shall continue to enjoy an excellent column.
G. J. Evans,
Haverfordwest.
