Sir,
BMA Cymru Wales is preparing a campagin to try and encourage medical students from Wales who are studying medicine in English, Scottish and Irish medical schools to return to Wales to train as junior doctors after qualification.
We believe that will go some way to alleviate the shortage of junior doctors in Welsh hospitals, and eventually, if they enjoy the experience, to remain and work here permanently.
If any of your readers have family members currently studying medicine over the border - or intending to do so next September, I would be very pleased to hear from them.
I can be contacted at BMA Cymru Wales, 5th floor, 2 Caspian Point, Caspian Way, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff CF10 4DQ, or by email at [email protected]">[email protected].
John Jenkins,
Senior Public
Affairs Officer,
BMA Cymru Wales.
