Sir,

I intended to start a holiday in Saundersfoot by supporting my local rugby team, Llangennech, in the Tenby Sevens. The letter, shown to me at breakfast on the Saturday, from Martin Graves (Tenby Observer - May 24) made me wonder what shambles I could expect.

On the contrary, I found the whole club to be vibrant and the actual competition was excellent. Llangennech RFC compete in several Sevens events and they unanimously thought that the organisation was magnificent.

I saw no sign of a club 'in a terrible state' and the fact that so many people were involved in the day's events certainly didn't indicate 'an air of total apathy'. The field and its setting was one of the best I've encountered all season and the young Tenby team, which narrowly lost in the final to Llangennech, had no shortage of skill and determination.

Well done Tenby RFC - you can be justifiably proud of the entire day.

R. Bowen,

4 Afon Road,

Llangennech.
