CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Jonathan Phillips who gained his Dr of Philosophy at Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts.

He is the grandson of Molly Phillips, of Kilgetty, and son of Christopher and Alison Phillips.

Christopher attended Stepaside and Greenhill Schools in the 1950s and 1960s.

Jonathan attended Wirral Grammar School for Boys, obtained a first in PPE at New College, Oxford, and a Masters at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.

Jonathan’s dissertation was entitled ‘Good Governance in Poor Places’ explaining inclusive politics in emerging subnational democracies. The information was gathered in Nigeria, India and Brazil over a period of five years.

Jonathan currently lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with his partner Neha Khandpur.
