Congratulations to Elizabeth Ann Purchase, who recently received her post graduate certificate in primary education.

Elizabeth attended Caldey Island Primary School from the age of two, and then went to Netherwood School in Saundersfoot, where she won a scholarship to attend Llandovery College.

From there she worked as a teaching assistant in Beijing, China, and Monkton, Pembroke, before going on to Cardiff University, obtaining a degree in English language.

Elizabeth, who is the daughter of Jim Purchase and the late Ann Purchase, formerly of Caldey Island, and sister to Victoria, is pictured receiving her post graduate certificate in primary education from Newman University College, Birmingham.

She is now working for Newport Council as a teacher and traveller children co-ordinator.
