Fourteen Pembrokeshire residents became British citizens at a special ceremony last week.

The 14 undertook their vows at County Hall, Haverfordwest, on Friday, March 1.

Among the new citizens were the Singh family - originally from India and now living in Haverfordwest.

Four-year-old Harsameep, a pupil at Prendergast Primary School, dressed up in Welsh costume to celebrate St. David's Day.

Father Baljinder, a trainee doctor at Withybush Hospital, said the family were very excited to become British citizens.

Other new British recruits included Chandrashekar Jatti, Gandla Kumar, Sunita Agarwal, Sayed Sujan, Alena Rybachova, Gigomaol Binu, Michael Cristofaro, Renu Philpott, and Junus.

Before making their homes in Pembrokeshire, the new citizens came from as far afield as India, Indonesia, Thailand, the Russian Federation, Bangladesh and Canada

Friday's ceremony was led by Barbara Eynon, superintendent registrar for Pembrokeshire.

The new citizens swore an oath to the Queen and pledged to be loyal citizens before standing for the Welsh and English national anthems.

The anthems were led by youngsters from Mary Immaculate Primary School, who also contributed other musical items.

Around 40-50 Pembrokeshire people become British citizens every year.
