The cyclists left Tenby at 2.40 am and returned on schedule at 7.30 pm that evening. They covered just over 200 miles in a total cycling time of 13 hours.
Their route took them via Kidwelly, Llanelli, Gowerton, Swansea, Port Talbot, Bridgend and on to Cardiff.
"People were very supportive all along the way, even passing money out of car windows as they passed!" said Tanis Hand afterwards.
They were given an escort into Tenby by Coastguards, Fire Engine, two Army trucks and Army cyclists.
Arriving at the cenotaph, they were met with a wonderful cheer from the crowd that was waiting, including the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, friends and relatives and many of the schoolchildren who had made posters to decorate the fence around the cenotaph.
