Manorbier Newton had an Open Gardens afternoon on July 15. Our aim was to raise more funds than we did in 2010 for Shalom House in St. David's.
It was a wonderful day with fantastic public support and we raised an amazing £2,385 on the day.
We would like to thank family and friends who worked hard to make the day a success. We had generous donations for our raffle prizes from local businesses and friends, thanks to them. John Magarry provided the musical entertainment and was much appreciated. A big thank you to the South Pembrokeshire YFC members who helped with the teas, which was very hectic at times! We had local vintage tractors and cars displayed by proud owners.
During the afternoon, a £350 cheque was donated to Shalom House trustees, Heather Phippen and Anne Symons, by The South Pembrokeshire YFC. The money was raised from carolling at Christmas last year.
Shalom House staff and supporters were available during the afternoon to provide information about this special charity, as well as fundraising.
