Disruption to water supplies in areas of Whitland have been reported.

Senedd Member for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, Samuel Kurtz stated on social media today (December 20) that he had been contacted by constituents in the locality regarding the issues.

“Over the last 12 hours I’ve been contacted by a number of constituents in the Llangain area regarding the water outages and a lack of communication with Welsh Water. I’m also hearing of similar reports in the Efailwen, Clynderwen and Whitland communities,” he said.

“I just wanted to reassure constituents that I am in close contact with Welsh Water and expecting an update on this matter shortly. Once provided, I’ll be updating residents accordingly.

“If you’re having any difficulties, then please email me on [email protected] so I can raise them with Welsh Water directly. My team and I are on stand-by to assist and help.

Reporting on issues in some areas of Wales, including Ceredigion, Welsh Water stated: “We’re currently dealing with a number of incidents on our network due to the thaw, following the recent prolonged cold weather snap. Our teams are working hard to find and fix leaks, we urge customers to do the same on their own properties.

“To help restore supplies, we ask those customers who have water supplies to only use the water they need and avoid leaving any taps running.”
