WITH a free-flowing cascade of water falling onto the stage and pools of water forming on the floor, the stage is set for the latest production from Earthfall. Two young men, in kilts, swimming trunks and fully clothed, wrestle their way through the deepening pool of water in love, despair and discovery. Inspired by Jamie O'Neill's award-winning novel about the deep friendship between two teenage boys, this new production is Earthfall at their most extreme, physically and emotionally. Set under the backdrop of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland, and war in mainland Europe, this is the company's second collaboration with Jamie O'Neill. The music in the show is live and at times is haunting in atmosphere. It has a strong Irish/folk themes running through the live score. There are two live musicians. Earthfall's treatment of this emotional novel brings the action alive with sheer vibrant physicality, raw emotion and is sure to pluck at the heart strings of everyone. At Swim Two Boys, with its mix of drama, theatre, live music, imagery, dance and physical theatre has something for everyone and is guaranteed to leave you stimulated, provoked and energised. It will be at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven, on Tuesday, April 26, at 7.30 pm, with tickets at £9 and £7 concessions.
