Would you like to watch more wildlife in Pembrokeshire? Why not come along to one of the local events open to all, in June as part of Wales's national biodiversity week?
Co-ordinated by the Pembrokeshire Biodiversity Partnership, an extensive programme of events has been organised from June 19 to 27, to provide people in Pembrokeshire with an opportunity to get closer to wildlife on their doorstep.
Events include a sea watch to spot porpoises, beach safaris, seabird spectaculars, and Skomer research dives. Help protect many of these marine animals by lending a hand at a beach clean.
If you prefer to keep your feet on firm ground, join in with moth trapping, go on a walk in the day spotting butterflies or at night detecting bats. Listen and ask questions at a talk on creating wildlife friendly gardens. If you already attracted birds to your garden and have an hour to spare you can take part in a bird survey, recording starlings, house sparrows and bullfinch.
Visit us at the launch of Pembrokeshire Fish Week where you can take part in games with the Shark Trust and learn more about Pembrokeshire's marine wildlife from our information stands.
Further information on the week's events, or the partnership - formed to increase the co-ordination and development of actions to conserve and enhance biodiversity in Pembrokeshire, can be obtained from Bethan Cox, Biodiversity Implementation Officer, on 07901541728 or Trevor Theobald, Pembrokeshire County Council's ecologist on 01437 776246.
