A week on since news broke that a major supermarket chain was interested in a site in Narberth, we have been informed that a pre-planning application has now been submitted to the local authority for such a development.
The site in the spotlight is the former Brains Brewery depot in Spring Gardens (pictured).
If given the green light, the proposed scheme would see a 10,000-square-foot supermarket and car parking created at the location.
When contacted by the Observer, however, a spokesman for Pembrokeshire County Council remained tight-lipped about the matter.
"It is the council's policy to treat all pre-application enquiries as confidential as they relate to commercially sensitive information," we were told.
