Motorists are being warned to watch out for road runners this Sunday, July 29, when the Tenby 10K Road Race/Fun Run takes place on the outskirts of the town.
The run, which leaves from Tenby Leisure Centre, will follow a route up the Clicketts Lane, along Heywood Lane to the Green, and along Marsh Road and the Penally bypass.
Runners will then make their way into Penally village and back towards Tenby, where a further lap of the first part of the run will take place to complete the measured course and end up back at the Leisure Centre.
The course will be well marked and marshalled by the police and marshals, but drivers are still asked to take great care because of the numbers of runners expected on the route.
The first part of the course, between the Leisure Centre and Heywood Lane, may be closed to traffic at the start of the race.
The run, in its 10th consecutive year, attracts club runners and fun runners from all over England and Wales. All participants should register at the Leisure Centre, where there are excellent changing facilities, toilets and showers.
Entries will be accepted on the day. The main 10K race will start at 11 am.
Entry forms or further details may be obtained from race organiser Carol Howard at Tenby Leisure Centre, Marsh Road, Tenby (tel: 01834 843575).
