PEMBROKE DOCK QUINS 46 pts. LLANGWM nil

The Quins collected their second bonus point win of the season with a resounding defeat of a Llangwm side who rarely threatened.

The hosts crossed the Wasps line after just three minutes when Sam Irwin latched on to a perfectively placed grubber kick from fullback Gareth Clark to give the Quins an early lead. Hooker Neil Brace failed with the conversion.

After a typical barnstorming run, flanker Phil Hughes put the home side further ahead with another unconverted try after 15 minutes, to put the Quins firmly in the driving seat.

Llangwm, at this stage, were desperately trying to stay in the game as the Quins put even more pressure on the visitors' defence.

Quins' number eight Gareth Scourfield heaped more misery on the visitors when he forced his way over for his side's third try, which was converted by Brace.

A bonus point now was firmly within the Quins' grasp and this duly arrived just before the break when centre Darren Gibby also forced his way over in the corner for a try, which was excellently converted by Brace.

The second half mirrored the first, with the only question being asked was could the Quins keep the Wasps off the scoreboard and how many tries could they score.

Within five minutes, Scourfield scored his second try of the match, which was soon followed by two excellent tries from left wing Paul Jonkers.

Irwin rounded off the scoring with his second try, converted by Brace, to give the Quins their third win in row.

With no match this coming Saturday, the Quins travel to Haverfordwest on Friday night for a Pembrokeshire KO Cup quarter-final tie at 7.30 pm.
