Pembrokeshire's Cleddau Warriors have played host to a major disability football festival.

The home team welcomed almost 130 players in the South Wales disability football league to Haverfordwest Leisure Centre last weekend.

Twenty-two teams took part in the South Wales disability football festival - the highest participation in the league programme to date.

While the under 12 competition was played indoors, the under 16 and over 16 competitions were played on the nearby astroturf with games refereed by Mike Quindelin, Tom Bevan, Richard Bevan, Delwyn Lewis, Huw Bevan and Jamie Clewer.

All players were later presented with certificates by Eddie Oliver, chair of the Pembrokeshire Football Forum.

Angela Miles, Pembrokeshire County Council's disability sport officer, said: "It's great that disability football clubs are now able to play in a structured league programme.

"The Cleddau Warriors are well on their way to completing the FAW Accreditation Award."

The Warriors will next play in Swansea on November 23. If anyone is interested in joining the Cleddau Warriors, please contact Angela on 01437 776240 or 07920213651.
