A team of 12 from the Llanion Warriors Celtic Longboat Rowing Club, based in Pembroke Dock, will be participating in the biennial Celtic Challenge, on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May. This could be the last time this event is actually run. The event involves 25 teams from Eire, Wales, Scotland, England and further abroad, racing the 100 miles overnight from Arklow (Eire) to Aberystwyth.

The Warriors club will be using this event to raise much needed funds for Paul Sartori, The Sunderland Trust and the Children's Ward at Withybush Hospital.

Consequently, if anyone would like to pledge a donation to motivate the team and help the beneficiaries listed above, please contact Darrell Willington at [email protected]">[email protected], or telephone 01646 682291, or write to 18 Upper Lamphey Road, Pembroke.

They also wish all of the other local teams participating every success in this race.
