Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking local bed and breakfast establishments to help it provide temporary accommodation for the homeless.
The council already has arrangements with a number of local B and Bs who provide much needed accommodation for certain categories of homeless people.
These can include families with children, 16 and 17-year-olds, elderly people, and people vulnerable due to disability.
Pembrokeshire County Council cabinet member for voluntary services and housing, Clr. Bill Roberts, said: "Due to a shortage of housing in the county, and an increase in the number of people becoming homeless, particularly in rural and northern parts of the county, we are experiencing some difficulties finding temporary placements.
"The council recently surveyed the bed and breakfast establishments we already use. Many felt that they receive a good service from the council in terms of liaison and payment.
"Most find providing accommodation for the homelessness is a good source of income, particularly over the winter months when the tourist trade may be lower."
