LONG distance walker Clive Lewis, of New Hedges, would like to wish the thousands of county sponsors who have supported him over many years, a very happy Christmas and a healthy 2012.

Most of you will probably recall that in March of this year he successfully completed his 15th major event. This time, the Grand Union Canal towpath was his venue.

The target he reached prior to the walk resulted in the purchase of 30 nebulisers for the respiratory department at Withybush Hospital, portable blood pressure monitors for the cardiac rehabilitation units and a number of items, sensors etc., for diabetes services, again for Withybush. All should now have been commissioned.

When he can find sufficient time to do so, he plans to reach a new target around the county in order to fund three high performance humidifiers with integrated flow generation for severe respiratory patients. These will also go to Withybush as his 16th event in late February 2012 is to be a back-to-back one.

These units are very state-of-the art and he has recently been sent the full technical data for these by Sister Jane Evans. Any money left over from this event will assist the clinics at Northfield Road, Narberth, where his contact is Rachel Harris, practice manager for one of the two clinics.
