What better way to end a year of happy and successful walks than enjoying coffee and mince pies with Father Christmas? (writes B.S.).

But first of all on Saturday morning, 26 members of the Steps2Health group, accompanied by walks leaders Erica, Janice, Brian and Paul, enjoyed a local walk which took in the Esplanade, St. Florence Parade, through the Five Arches, down St. Julian Street to the harbour and round the Castle Hill.

Then it was full steam ahead to the Norton where the home of Barbara and Paul Morris was the epitome of hospitality with its warm welcome, Christmas tree, decorations and convivial atmosphere. And, of course, Santa himself! Regular walker Leighton Davies certainly made an imposing figure in his impressive costume.

A collection was made for the Philippines Disaster Fund (via the Red Cross) which together with last week's raffle amounted to £120.

And our thanks and appreciation to Barbara and Paul.

No walk tomorrow (Saturday). On Saturday, January 4, the minibus leaves 10 am for a walk at Neyland. Meet approx 10.30 Neyland Marina car park.
