Christian Community Church, Narberth, is hosting a series of events during the week of Saturday - Saturday September 18 - 25, as part of 'Walk St. David' - which is led by Daniel Cozens, a renowned artist and speaker.
Daniel has been a preacher for over 20 years with a style that is full of colour, communicating to people in a down-to-earth way and with a delightful west-country accent. He is a strong, but gentle family man, married to Gillie with four grown-up children.
His early interest in art led him to conclude that, if there was a God, He would want Daniel to be an artist! He studied in the UK and spent time in Paris and Holland, before deciding to study oriental art in Japan. However, while he was still making plans he met what he calls 'real Christians' and his life was amazingly changed - as he puts it - he encountered the Living God.
Daniel has always believed in the importance of team-work. As a result, he founded Through Faith Missions to draw together teams of people to visit and preach all over the UK. Walk St. David is part of that initiative, reflecting Daniel's belief that God's love is for everyone, including the people of Narberth.
Just as a church is not a building, but people in the building, so Narberth is not just bricks and mortar, but the people who make up the town. The Christian Community Church is a group of people who are very much part of the Narberth community. Over many years, Christians in the area have prayed for the town to prosper and for God's purposes to be fulfilled. We believe that God is answering this prayer.
Our message is - 'God is interested in Narberth and passionate about each and every individual who lives here'.
We are kicking off the week tomorrow (Saturday) with a Commissioning Service in St. Mary's Church, Tenby, at 11 am, followed by a BBQ at Bethesda Baptist Church, High Street, Narberth, at 4 pm. The week then continues with a full programme of events; something for everyone with the finale on Saturday, September 24, with 'Food for the Soul' - with music, entertainment and distribution of free 'goody bags' on the High Street, Narberth.
All events are free, but for catering purposes, would be grateful if you could telephone to let us know you would like to attend.
A leaflet giving details of the entire event will be distributed during the weekend, and we hope that you will enjoy being part of some of the events planned.
