A new art exhibition will officially open at Tenby Museum.

The exhibition called Wales in Watercolour will open on Friday evening (30 August) and will feature over fifty watercolours pictures of Welsh landscapes including scenes of Pembroke, Manorbier, Tenby, Amroth, the Gower, Cardigan and Solva.

Artist Graham Hadlow, a Yorkshireman by birth, studied Creative Design at Loughborough College of Education before joining the staff at Greenhill School, Tenby in 1970. Here he taught ceramics and was appointed Head of Art and Design in 1986.

In 1988 he began to devote more of his leisure time to painting, inspired by the landscape of South West Wales. Ten years later having achieved a level of success with his work, he took the decision to leave teaching to become a full-time painter.

Museum Curator Mark Lewis, who officially opens the show, said, “Graham has been a long-time supporter of the museum. His work is well known around the county and the exhibition captures his talents and exquisite control of the watercolour medium.”

This sales exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 31 August and runs until Sunday 6 October.
