President Maureen chaired the meeting and received several apologies. Birthday posies for March were presented to Isobel and Aileen. Several members from Amroth WI were welcomed. Arrangements were made for transport to the spring group meeting in Kilgetty the following evening. A short meeting was held after the main meeting to discuss the forthcoming County Round. Marlene and Joyce will attend the Welsh Conference at Builth Wells on April 13. Members were thanked for their support at the recent coffee evening to raise funds for a member's daughter to take part in the Jubilee Sailing Trust's venture in May. The group coffee morning will be held at Wiseman's Bridge Inn on Tuesday, May 17, 10.30 am - 12 noon, when Summerhill will be hostesses. The main attraction of the evening was the visit of Hazel and Beth, of Chocoholics, with their attractive display of all things chocolate. The free samples in circulation were greatly appreciated. Maureen was the lucky winner of the raffle - chocolate, of course. Lisa Phillips judged the cold desserts entries and the winners were Winifred, Aileen, Gwyneth and Wendy. Winners of the competition for the prettiest serving bowl were Sheila, Aileen and Maureen. Winifred gave a brief account of her recent visit to Denman and showed impressive examples of the craft learnt on the course. Treasurer Pam presented a healthy financial statement. As usual, the April meeting is in the form of an outside visit. This year, the venue is the War Cemetery and Control Tower at Carew, where the guides will be Deric and John Brock. A meal has been booked at Carew Inn. It was agreed to meet at the war cemetery at approximately 6.20 pm and transport was arranged. The meeting closed with the anthems.
