Volunteers’ Week is a nationwide celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from June 1 - 12. This year, the week has been extended, by five days, in order to mark celebrations associated with the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Volunteers’ Week plays a huge part in raising the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to the community, while inspiring others to get involved too.

PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Action) Volunteering Pembrokeshire is holding its National Volunteers’ Week celebration event and award ceremony, on June 9, 6 at Letterston Memorial Hall from 11 am.

If you know someone who gives their time and commitment to volunteering in Pembrokeshire, or has changed his or her life through volunteering - why not nominate them for a Volunteering Award, and give them the recognition they deserve? You can also nominate a group of volunteers, as there are a number of different categories. See the PAVS website for more information and a nomination form http://tinyurl.com/volpembs or contact PAVS.

Help celebrate volunteering, and the contribution volunteers make in Pembrokeshire. You can book your place at the celebration event on June 9 at http://tinyurl.com/volweekbook or just contact PAVS.

Over 150 people usually attend this vibrant event, with over 20 voluntary organisations promoting various volunteering opportunities. Lunch is included for everyone who books and there will be plenty going on in the hall before the awards ceremony starts.
