Volunteers from South Pembrokeshire are to meet His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, on Monday, June 22, in recognition of their charitable work.

Prince Charles is to meet the volunteers during a visit to the Market Square in Llandovery where he will see a showcase of the work done by one of his charities, Prime Cymru.

During the hour-and-a-half visit, His Royal Highness will also chat to some of the volunteers who have been working with the charity that he established in 2001.

He will be meeting volunteers from across Wales, but Prime Cymru volunteers from Pembrokeshire who will meet him are Anne Elms (66) from Tenby, Yvonne Earl (64) from Pembroke Dock and Pat Smith (62) from Monkton.

Anne volunteers for several projects in Tenby and supports Prime Cymru's Friendship Club for older people in the town.

Yvonne supports many projects in Pembroke Dock and also spends her free time working with craft groups which make items to raise money for worthy causes.

Pat registered for volunteering work through Prime Cymru last summer, having just recovered from cancer treatment.

Since then, she has used her free time to support various projects, including a day centre service for adults with learning disabilities, a scheme supporting school children and a fund-raising craft group.

Prince Charles will also see a showcase of work done by Prime Cymru's Rural Challenge Schemes in Powys, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire which support older people into volunteering.
